How Much Will It Cost?

This is the ultimate question and unfortunately without a good understanding of your needs it is a difficult one to answer. A good place to start is with a conversation.

Since every project has unique requirements and all of our work is custom, the total price for design and development varies greatly. The overall cost is based on several different factors: the scale of the project, the amount of creative services involved and the level of any advanced functionality.

Many times it's difficult for us to bid on project, even when there is a detailed project specification because solutions differ with each provider.

So, the question remains? How much will it cost? Here are a few cost considerations.

Turnkey Website Design/Redesign

Informational websites, often referred to as “static” or “brochure ware” websites usually start at $5,000 and go up from there. We often do smaller projects for clients that cost less, but these are generally not full websites. Since the design process can be very subjective, we can put as much time into the process as you demand.

Content Managed Websites

Content-managed websites that give our clients varying degrees of control over their website content can start at $8,000 and grow depending on the degree of complexity. The average price of a content managed website is around $9,500.

Ecommerce Websites and Custom Applications

Ecommerce websites, or websites with any type of advanced functionality start at $15,000 and grow depending on business requirements, level of complexity, advanced security measures, data redundancy, backup strategies, and other factors. Again, these types of efforts are dependent on the scale and amount of customization involved.

Search Engine Marketing Including Google AdWords

Search Engine Optimization, Marketing and Pay-Per-Click set up and management can take different levels of effort. Every PPC campaign is different, but the average cost to get a campaign listed and running is about $750. The amount of monthly maintenance truly varies. We have customers that invest from $100 - $2000 per month total with Google AdWords and campaign management. We also have customers that spend from $2500 - $4500 for a website audit and basic search engine optimization and search engine registration. Depending on the state of existing site, a total website rebuild may be necessary for good organic performance.

Email Marketing Communications

Appian can create a custom newsletter template and train you on the use of an email marketing management tool for around $2500. Ongoing delivery costs vary depending on the provider. We have customers that spend anywhere from $30 per month to $500 per month on email marketing services.

These estimates are provided to give you a general idea of the associated costs of average projects. We like to learn about your project and specifically what you would like to accomplish. Contact us today to discuss details and we will be happy to give you a more accurate idea of your total investment.

How We Handle Your Project

Once the project is underway, it is the job of the Project Champion to be sure that everyone stays on track and adheres to the scope of the project as it was quoted. Your Project Champion will keep you informed regularly as to the status of your project in terms of both timeline and budget.

Once our clients have worked with us long enough to fully understand our capabilities, their wish list starts to grow. It is very common for change orders to be created during the course of a project as our clients see things come together and new ideas for enhancements or additional capabilities arise. In these cases, we often quote these change orders on the fly and create addendums to the project scope. In some cases, we’ll recommend holding off on major changes and adding them to a “phase two” project plan in order to stay on course for meeting our original project delivery timeline.
